This past week was really fun and interesting. On tuesday, the mission president had all of the zone leaders, district leaders, and trainers come into the capital for a special meeting and they talked about how we are going to be receiving a ton of new missionaries in this mission! im super excited cause this mission is going to explode! there have been a bunch of rumors and one of them is that every area in the mission is going to get 2 companionships of missionaries instead of just one. It would help out a ton cause there are some areas that are huge! Then on thursday my companion started telling me in the night that he didnt feel good so he went to bed a little early and then friday all day we had to stay inside because he told me that he felt like he wanted to die. then on saturday we decided that it would be best to go to the hospital and get it checked out. that was an interesting experience cause we went into the ER and then this guy came in that had been shot in the chest! talk about a crazy experience! anyways, they did some tests on elder peterson and they found out that he had 4 amibas which is a lot. they then put an IV in him and then sent him home with some medicine to take. he´s doing a lot better now and he said that he feels normal again! then my last cool story for this week is that we were at a members house last night (sunday night) out by the ocean (about a 20 min walk from our house) and when we were getting ready to leave, the member asked us if we wanted a ride home and we said no that was alright. then we were walking out of their apartments and they asked us again through the window if we were sure that we didnt want a ride and we said no again. Then we were walking a little ways down the street and this car stopped right next to us and they guy driving was a return missionary from my very first area in the mission (Boca Chica) and he asked us if he could give us a ride home. so we finally said yes cause i had a strong feeling that we should! it was a little weird to see him there in that area cause apparently he is dating a girl that lives out here and they just happened to be driving out in the area where we were walking. anyways moral of the story, i felt like we were being watched over because i had a feeling that something bad would have happened if we wouldnt have accepted that offer for a ride home. Its fun to see these cool kinds of things as a missionary! wow! anyways things here are going great and we are loving this area! love you guys and take care!
Love,
Elder Herring
