Farewell MTC!!

Taylor's companion -- Elder Fortin from Kaysville, UT
Hey everybody!! So things here are way good! no joke I feel like yesterday was last Sunday! This week has flown by!! But this Monday morning at 3am I leave for the DR!! YYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels good to actually be going somewhere other than Provo! I do feel like I'm on my mission but at the same time I dont just because of where I am and I can still see everything that iI've seen growing up!
This week at the MTC has been crazy. Our district has really buckled down and worked our butts off. I feel like I could have a decent conversation with someone about the gospel in Spanish but I know I'm going to try it out and find out really quick how little Spanish I know! haha but hey that's what learning and trying is all about! I can't explain how happy I am just to get out and go instead of sitting in a classroom all day! Don't get me wrong though, I've learned so much being here and I know I have changed. My testimony is a lot stronger and I know my purpose and why I am on a mission. To be honest, when I came on my mission I dont think I came for all of the right reasons. I did want to share the gospel with everyone but I feel now, that my intentions and way of thinking have changed.
I am so greatful for this gospel and for the change it makes in peoples hearts. I know that if any of you are struggling right now, just kneel down and pray to your Father in Heaven and ask him for help and he will help you because all you need to do is ask him. It's so simple, just ask him for help with true intent and he will help you. Also I know this has helped me out a lot but just try to talk a half hour or an hour and read straight out of the Book of Mormon each day and I can promise you that you will feel a difference in your thoughts and words and actions in one week if you do this everyday. I wish I would have known this before my mission cause I feel like I would have been able to come closer to Christ.
I won't be able to get anymore letters from you guys if you send them to the MTC so I'll ask my companion what our address is in the DR and let you know next time what it is if any of you want to send me a letter! Thank you again for all that you've done for me!! I love you all and appreciate the happiness you've brought into my life!
Love,
Elder Taylor Herring
