Wow time in the mission is really flying! at times it feels like this is
going to be my life for the rest of my life but whenever we get a
baptism it just makes things a lot better! So this Saturday we are
baptizing these two girls that are 10 and 11 and they are some of the
coolest little girls that you will ever meet! They are super smart and
are really excited to get baptized! Me and my companion Elder Harris are
working really hard and we are trying to work with the members in this
area right now so that they know the importance of references! its
really tough to do missionary work just contacting everyday and getting
people telling you that they are already Christians or that they have
their own church or one of my favorites is when you say ¨Hola¨ they say
Adios! Things are a lot tougher here in La Romana but i can see that
this ward would be amazing if they could just get their ward to actually
start doing things and putting an effort in to try and help out. Back
in Boca Chica, the members would actually correlate to go and visit the
less active members which then would show the less actives that the ward
cared about them and they would come back! but this ward doesn´t really
help out at all and they never have references which are key to
missionary work! You can go contact all day and not find one person but
you can go to a members house, have a really spiritually scripture, and
ask them for a reference and then go to that reference and usually 75%
of the time it turns into a baptism. The reason being is because that
person is ready to hear the gospel and they have been prepared! Its
amazing to see how missionary work/life is when you are really living
it! Anyhoo i hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather back home and
just know that i miss every single one of you! yes that means you!! Love
you guys!
Love,
Elder Herring
