So this week has been very interesting!! haha so first off, we were robbed. some little kid decided it would be cool to climb inbetween the pillars and break into our house and steal our stuff! so my ipod, camera, and speakers were stolen and my companions ipod, camera, 3 of his memory cards including his 16gb card that has all of his pictures from the beginning of his mission and his shaving cream and 1500 pesos got stolen! ha wow welcome to the DR! seriously its a cool place here but everyone is looking out for themselves and you dont see very much helping each other out going on. so we called the mission presidents assistants and they came out to see what had happened and they told us that they cant do anything about it because we left the back door open. of course there are bars around the back porch like the picture of the front of our house but some little kid was able to squeeze through the columns that are under the bars and get in our house. we think we know what kid stole our stuff but we dont really have proof so we can only hope for the best! Today (monday) me and my companion were playing baseball out front of our house and the bishop (who lives across the street from us) was cleaning out his car when all of a sudden he held up an ipod that looked exactly like the one i had before it got stolen so i got really excited thinking that he had found our stuff or something. so i went over there and looked but apparently it was his and it looked exactly the same except that it had a bigger memory on it. so then i was kind of bummed and then he handed it to me and said here its yours! ha wow i was super surprised by that one! hes got a bunch of money and just buys whatever but i still didnt expect him to hand it to me! i didnt want to take it and i said no thats fine but thank you but he kept insisting that i have it! so now i have an ipod! wow this week has been interesting! but on the other side of things, two of our baptisms that we were supposed to have for this coming saturday decided not to come to church even though both of them have testimonies and understand everything! ahh not good!! so we went to see what was going on and she was drinking coffee!! haha wow talk about a surprise! she had told us that she had stopped and really wanted the gospel but she has some kind of sickness that decides to come at the most random and worst times! so now she wont be getting baptized for awhile and we are going to pretty much tell her that if she wants the gospel in her life and wants to get baptized that she needs to come because she wants to, not because we´ve asked her to. so we´ll see what happens with that! then we have another baptism coming up soon from a girl thats 11 and we are pretty excited about that one! but things here are going really good and days here are literally FLYING by!! wow its incredible how time flys when you are in the mission field!! anyways thank you all for supporting me and i hope everyone is doing great back home!! love you all! Love, Elder Taylor Herring
